Ram, Director of The Hindu Group, strongly criticized the attack on Iran and India’s current foreign policy while speaking at a seminar in New Delhi. He stated, “People must protest against imperialist attacks on Iran and other countries, as well as India’s current foreign policy.”
Describing a shift from India’s traditional stance, he said, “We have come to a stage where people must protest against this transformation of India’s foreign policy.”
Criticizing the role of the United States and Israel, N. Ram remarked, “Israel and the United States treacherously launched an attack on Iran…”
He further noted that the Indian government failed to take a clear stand, “Not only did they fail to condemn… they also created the feeling…”
Referring to the Prime Minister’s visit to Israel, he said, “This visit provided a cover for [Benjamin] Netanyahu along with the United States to launch this atrocious attack.”
Calling the shift in policy deeply troubling, he added, “The transformation of India’s foreign policy… was ‘deeply’ concerning.”
According to him, this change is reflected in three developments: closer strategic partnership with the United States, an overt alliance with Israel, and the weakening of India’s historic anti-colonial solidarity, particularly regarding Palestine and Iran.
He emphasized, “The most striking manifestation… was its changing stance towards the Palestinian struggle.”
- Ram reiterated that, “People must protest…” and stressed that citizens should raise their voices against imperialist attacks and the deviation in India’s foreign policy.
