Commission Registers Case Against Accused Party for Fabricating Ownership Documents; Calls for Accountability and Justice

AZAMGARH – In response to allegations of the fraudulent usurpation of the Ghazi Dalil Khan cemetery through the use of counterfeit documents, the Minority Commission has taken decisive action, summoning the Superintendent of Police (SP) Azamgarh to address the matter.

Expressing deep concern over the situation, the Minority Commission has initiated legal proceedings against the accused party for fabricating documents to assert ownership of the cemetery situated on the outskirts of the city. Emphasizing the gravity of the issue, the commission has underscored the importance of accountability and justice in this matter.

Despite issuing several notices, the commission expressed disappointment over the lack of response and action from concerned authorities. Consequently, under Section 9 (3) of the Minority Commission Act, 1994, the commission has summoned SP Azamgarh to provide a comprehensive account of the actions taken thus far.

An investigative delegation, led by Secretary of the Muslim Relief Committee Azamgarh, Anis Ahmed, presented evidence of the fraudulent document to SP Anurag Arya. The commission had previously instructed SP Azamgarh to initiate legal proceedings against the perpetrators and ensure strict action.

The case traces back to October 10, 2013, when a petition was filed with the Qaliti Commission, Uttar Pradesh, urging legal action against the alleged land grabber, Jaman Sain. Despite the seriousness of the matter, significant progress was lacking, prompting intervention from the state Minority Commission.

In response to the complaint lodged by Secretary Anees Ahmed, it was revealed that the Ghazi Dalil Khan cemetery holds historical significance and is legally recognized as a Muslim cemetery. However, individuals, including Jaman Sain, have unlawfully seized parts of the cemetery for personal gain, exploiting vulnerable individuals.

According to official records cited in the complaint, the Ghazi Dalil Khan cemetery spans an area of 76 acres and 300,000 kudis under Khasra No. 262, with an additional 950,000 kudis under Khasra No. 136. The accused has unlawfully occupied a portion of Khasra No. 136, measuring 950 square meters, through deceit.

The Minority Commission has reiterated the importance of upholding justice and safeguarding the rights of minority properties.

As the investigation progresses, stakeholders eagerly anticipate SP Azamgarh’s response to the commission’s summons, hoping for swift and decisive action to rectify the situation and uphold principles of justice and fairness.
