NEW DELHI: Leaders of the opposition INDIA alliance parties held a high-level meeting in New Delhi today and exuded confidence that they will secure a resounding victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Based on feedback from the ground across the country, the INDIA bloc is claiming it will win over 295 seats, giving it a clear majority to form the next government at the Centre.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge declared, “The INDIA alliance is winning. We will get at least 295+ seats as per the people’s survey.” He accused the BJP of trying to mislead the public through “government-sponsored exit polls.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated the numbers were even higher as per their estimates – “The INDIA bloc will cross 295, while the BJP will be limited to around 220 seats.” He affirmed the alliance’s resolve – “Even if we have to go to jail for the rest of our lives for the sake of the country, we are prepared for it.”

Other opposition leaders like Tejashwi Yadav of RJD, Akhilesh Yadav of SP, and Soren of JMM echoed similar views, claiming the “INDIA wave” has swept the nation. They criticized PM Modi for being disconnected from the people’s pulse.

The united opposition put up an unprecedented challenge to the ruling NDA in these elections. As the results get announced on June 4th, all eyes will be on whether INDIA can unseat the BJP and present an alternative coalition government at the Centre.

The opposition leaders have instructed their workers to remain vigilant during the counting process. They have also sought time from the Election Commission to raise any potential concerns ahead of the D-Day.
