Lack of Clarity from Education Department Adds to Teachers’ Anxiety
PATNA- An hour earlier leave is being demanded for teachers in government schools of the state just before the commencement of Ramadan. However, the absence of clear instructions or an official letter from the Mohalla Education Department has left teachers apprehensive.
Traditionally, Muslim teachers observing Ramadan fasts have been granted leave one hour before the usual dismissal time. This practice has been upheld through an official letter issued by the education department in previous years. However, as Ramadan approaches, no such announcement has been made by the education department, leaving teachers uncertain about their schedules.
President of Bihar State Urdu Teachers Association, Qamar Misbahi, emphasized the long-standing tradition of granting leave to fasting teachers one hour earlier. With school timings set from 9 am to 5 pm, an early departure would alleviate some of the challenges faced by fasting educators. However, the lack of clarity and official communication from the education department has left teachers feeling uneasy about their arrangements for Ramadan.
The demand for early leave is rooted in acknowledging the religious observances of Muslim teachers during Ramadan. As the holy month approaches, the need for prompt clarification from the education department becomes increasingly urgent to ensure that teachers can observe their religious duties without added stress or uncertainty.
This issue highlights the importance of timely communication and sensitivity to the religious practices of educators within the education system.
